“THE DAREDEVIL.”

William Fox's cowboy “star,” Tom Mix, whose initial efforts as an author and director, as well as a “star,” have made bis latest feature, “The Daredevil,” a 100 per cent. Mix feature, comes to the Grand and Plaza Theatres to-day with international honours tied to his belt. Long a favourite with the followers of the screen in the United States,. Mix has crossed the ocean and is now heralded throughout France as one of the brightest of film actors. At Charenton, one of the suburbs

of Paris, quite .recently ,on the second night of a three-night run of a Mix feature,, the French gendarmes had their hands full controlling the crowds that sought admission to the theatre. It was Mix’s initial appearance in the town, and so rapidly did his fame spread that the management was forced to extend the run of the Mix feature in order to satisfy the people. . Eileen Percy, the fascinating, is to visit Dunedin as a “star” at last. One year in four political affairs take place in the minds of the American people. This is one of the most important political years the United States has ever seen. Therefore the presentation by William Fox of “Her Honor the Mayor,” a thrilling political romance, to be presented as a support, is timely. Miss Percy, the “star” of “Her Honor the Mayor,” is a beautiful Irish girl, who has been playing important roles in William Fox pictures, following a brief, but very successful, career on the speaking stage.
