TRINITY METHODIST CHURCH

»The quarterly social gathering of the congregation of Trinity Methodist Church was well attended on Wednesday evening. The Rev. M. A v Rugby Pratt presided. Addresses were given by tne chairman and Mr R. N. Vanes. ’lhe Rev. R. E. Fordyce and Mr E. A. Rosevear reported upon the recent conference, when over 200 ministers and laymen met in Wellington to consider the work of the church. Both spoke in optimistic vein, and whilst recognising the difficulties in connection with church work today, expressed the confidence that a new era of-influence and prosperity was opening out. At the conference over £IO,OOO had been promised for- aggressive work in connection with the Church centenary celebrations. It was expected that £45,000 would be contributed. Musical and elocutionary items were contributed by Misses Rene Aslin, M. Raine, and Edwards,,'and Mr GA Gordon. Refreshments were dispensed by Mesdames Aslin, Dey, and Vanes. Miss Hartley supplied the accompaniments.
