At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand. Amateur Athletio Association tonight it was announced! that the championship meeting will be held at Auckland on the arranged date—March 6 —and would not be postponed, as was rumoured. Applications for-' reinstatement were received from G. H. Weir (Bawera), J. K. Hooker (Hawera), J. Rice (Auckland), and C. Read (Auckland). Weir's application was declined, Hooker's was granted, and Rice's was ordeded to stand over for three years from the date of his last professional performance. Read's application was not entertained. . • BOWLING. DUNEDIN v. SEACLIFF. Three rinks from the Dunedin Bowling Club paid a visit to Seacliff on Saturday last, and spent a most enjoyable day, as the members of the Seacliff Club dtid everything in their power to make the visit a pleasant one. A most enjoyable game was played on Saturday afternoon on the Mornington green between teams representing the Boot Manufacturers and Boot Retailers, the game endling in favour of the former. .During the game play ceased for refreshments, and in the interval Messrs Scott and Penrose, on behalf of the Retailers, thanked the Manufacturers for the enjoyable afternoon they had given them.
