WRECKAGE AT KING ISLAND.

VESSEL PROBABLY BURNED,

Press Association-By Telegraph—Copyright. HOBART, September 24. A radio message from King Island reports that a quantity of wreckage came ashore apparently from a vessel that has been burned. It is supposed to be parts of the barquontine Southern Cross en route to Ifobart, whose deck carco included 1000 cases of benzine. Tlie message makes no mention of her crew, numbering 12, including Captain Hodgman.

INCREASES TO MINERS. SYDNEY, September 24 (Received Sept. 24, at 7.20 p.m.) In the Assembly the Attorney-general, referring to the increases granted to the coal miners, said that action had been, taken to see that there was no-unwarranted increase in the price of coal. If an increase were required application would have to be made to the commission.
