CONCERT AT MOSGIEL

Notwithstanding the vary wintry evening there was a good attendance at the Scottish concert in the Coronation Hall, Mosgiel, last night, which was held in aid of the funds of the Taiori Pipe Band. Mr Geo. Gordon was chairman, and made a brief introductory speech. Ho thanked the performers for the splendid concert provided. Tho Dunedin Pipe Band visited Mosgiel for the occasion, and along witi. the local pipers opened the programmo with a selection. Tne programme of songs, quartets, Highland dances, eta, was supplied by artists from Dunedin, and included some well-known favourites on the Mosgiel stage, especially at Scottish concerts. Mrs S. E. Wilson and Mi» Lucy James, Messrs Charles Reid, 0. E. Scott. J. D. Cameron, and S. G. Angell favoured with songs, the last four gentlemen also Binging under the name of "The Idlers, some well-known Scotch quartets. Dances were neatly executed by- Misses B. King. T. Gillespie, V. Paterson. and W. Rawlinson, and Master E. Robinson. Mr • Deaker infused much mirth into the programme with humorous songs and stories. The audience showed its appreciation of the concert by hearty applause and frequent recalls. Sir Beinnell played the accompaniments in an efficient manner. An enjoyable dance that followed the concert was well attended.
