Meanwhile, the Hon. Sir Arthur Stanley has returned to London, and he says that a resolution was passed setting forth that tho objects of the Jeaguo are:— 1. To encourage and promote in everv country m the world the establishment and development of a duly authorised voluntary National Red Cross organisation, having as purposes tho improvement of health tno prevention of disease, and the mitigation of suffering throughout the world and to secure the co-operation of such organisations for these purposes. 2. Io promote the welfare of mankind by furnishing a medium for bringing within the reach of all the peoples the Benefits to bo derived from present known facts, and new contributions to science and medical knowledge and their application. o. To furnish a medium for co-ordinating relief work in case of great national or in* ternational calamities. The board consists of Mr 11. P. Davison (American Red Cross chairman), the Hon. A. Stanley (British Rod Cross), Comte Jean de Kergorky (French Red Cross). Sonatore Giovanni Giraclo (Italian Red Cross), and Professor ArataNinagawa (J apancS o Rod u.oss). Ten additional countries were asked by the conference to appoint representawu S ' ai^° ngr thc,n Canada and Australia. When these representatives have been elected the question will be taken up of tho Central Powers being admitted.
