HOLLAND THREATENED

SHIPS WANTED BY GERMANY. SHORTAGE OF MINERS. Australian and N.Z.' Cable Association.

WASHINGTON, August 23. The State Department is informed that Germany has threatened that she will not give Holland any more ship steel unless Holland agrees that all ships constructed there shall be used in the interest of Germany for thei duration of the war and for five years thereafter. Germany has also informed Holland that she must send miners to Germany if she desires more than a certain allotment of coal. It is understood that Germany is using the same tactics to Denmark.
