BOWLING CLUB CONCERT
Quito a. large gathering of Momington residents assembled in the local school gymnasium last night to enjoy a very wellarranged musical and elocutionary programme arranged by the committee of the Mornmgton Bowling Club. The gathering was presided over by Mr P. Carol in (prosidei\t of the club), who thanked those present for attending in such large numbers f° r the purpose of assisting financially a club that contributed so largely to the social enjoyment of tho residents. The entertainmont was opened by a flute quartet contributed by bays from the Momington School. This was followed by songs rendered in a very creditable manner by Mrs W. Shrimpton, Misses Wakelin, Scott Mesa's R. Bryant, A. R-awlinson, Reed, and \L B&uchop. jVljss May Brown jjavo two humorous sketches,, and, with her brother took part in a musical monologue. Clever instrumentalists varied the programme in an acceptable manner, Mr Mackie Roberteon contributing a piano solo,-. Mr H. Riddcll a bolero on the violin, and Mr D Wholan a tenor horn solo. Mr S. Osbom's name appeared twice on the programme as a reciter of popular items, but in his case, as well as in the cases of other performers reappearances on tho platform were frequent in response to the hearty expressions of approval from the audience. Misses I. Bell. K Ford, and Mr M. Robertson enhanced the success of the entertainment by playing th? accompaniments in an efficient manner At the close of the concert the contributors to the_ programme were cordially thanked for their services.
