APPLICATION TO AUCKLAND PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATION.

AUCKLAND, March 14. An application from tho Mayor of Wellington for a contribution towards tho cost of furnishing the Soldiers' Club at Trentham enmo before a meeting of tho executive of the Auckland Patriotic Association today.
After some discussion, in tho onurso of f lii wol '° expressed as to whether further comforts and conveniences for tho soldiers at tho camp wero necessary, it was decided to refer the matter to the Advisory, Jioard, with the request that full information on the subject bo collected. In tho course of his remarks .Mr Wesley kpragg said that, without wishing' to appear to. be parochial, ho thought that as the Wellington peoplo wero deriving so much monetary advantage from Trenthani camp it should not need to go far afield to obtain the sum required for furnishing the club, •tie said that tho Wairarapa people had done a great deal in this connection at I* eatharston.
