TREJ3IZOND.
FEELING BETWEEN TURKS AND GERMANS. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) LONDON, May 1. (Received May 2, at 5.30 p.m.) The Times correspondent at Bucharest says that before leaving Trebizond the Turkish officers shot several of their Cerman colleagues. The conviction that Germany has brought the present troubles upon Turkey is increasing in the army and the population generally. It is recognised that she has little prospect of retaining hor independence. The milder rule of the Allies seems more tolerable than the tyranny of Germany. When the Russians entered the town they found it totally abandoned, but full of the corpses of massacred Armenian women and children. ENEMY STRONGLY REINFORCED. SUPPLIES OF GUNS AND MUNITIONS. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) PETROGRAD, May 1. (Received May 2, at 5.30 p.m.) Reports state that the Turks have been strongly reinforced in the region of Trebizond and Erzerum. Austrian guns and large quantities of munitions have been railed to Angora, and thence by motor transport. These new factors account for the temporary suspension of the Russian offensive.
TOWARDS BAGDAD. RUSSIAN"""SUCCESS. PETROGRAD, May 2. (Received May 3, at 0.55 a.m.) In the direction of Bagdad the Russians repulsed the Turks towards the west, capturing artillery.
