The Supreme Court has ordered the extradition of Ignatius Lincoln, alias Tribisch, to England on a charge of forgery. ANOTHER IRON CROSS. LONDON, May 1. A message from Berlin states that the Kaiser has decorated Herr Krupp von Bohlen with the Iron Cross of the First Class owing to his labours for Germany in winning the war.

We have received from the Hyde Patriotic Committee (per Mr J. C. M'Lcan),a cheque for £26 15s 6d in aid of the Red Cross funds. ARM BADGES. REDUCED TO TWO. (Pub United Peess Association.) WELLINGTON, May 2. The number of arm badges is to bo reduced to two —khaki for men enlisted, whether accepted, rejected, or exempted, and scarlet for men honourably discharged from the forces. ' The other special badges will bo withdrawn. GOING TO THE FRONT. On Monday a. meeting of railway employees and residents of Purakanui district (including a number of ladies) was held at tho residence of Mr A. S. Simons, for tho purpose of bidding him farewell, as he has enlisted in the Tunnelling Corps. Mr A. O'Brien, in handing Mr Simons a handsome wristlet watch and wallet, spoke of his many fine qualities and wished him success and safe return. Mr Simons is leaving h:s wife and three young children, but as he has special qualifications as a miner he considered it his duty to offer his services. Mr Douglas Dagg, who is going into camp this week, was the recipient of <v purse of sovereigns from tho public of Patcaroa on Friday evening. Mr P. M'Atamney made the presentation, and ho and Mr M'Skimming spoke in eulogistic terms of tho young soldier. Musical items and dances filled out an enjoyable evening.

The residents of the Y.M.C.A. met last eve nine; to bid farewell to Mr W. H. Bussell, who is leaving with the Sixteenth Eeiiijarcements. Mr Hughes, in presenting Mr Russell with a fountain pen, a money belt, and a writing wallet, _ spoke of the high esteem in which the recipient was held by all who know him. Several residents also spoke in a similar strain, and Mr Russell suitably replied.

Over 100 residents of St. Kilda assembled in the local Town Hall on Monday evening to bid farewell to five of their number— Messrs H. Lanham, M. Marks, N. Witty, H. C. Hulme, and W. Bambcr —who aro leaving this week for Trentham. The Mayor (Mr W. T. M'.Farlanc) was in the chair, and said that over 60 men, all of a splendid type, were representing St. Kilda at the front. He extended the best wishes of the residents to those away and their present guests, with the hope that they would return well and hearty. He presented each of the guests with a wristlet watch. During the evening a good musical programmo was gone through, Mr F. Evans acting as accompanist. The whole movement was heartily supported in rhe district, the local fire brigade taking an active part in lAio preparations. The Bruoo County Council yesterday granted Mr J. C. Nicholls leave of abscneo during the period of tho .war, or such timo as ho was on service; also to make up any deficiency between the military pay and the wages he has been receiving from the council.

Mr Francis Gordon Payne, who has been studying to qualify as a civil engineer, is len-ving New Zealand by the Turakina to join the colours in England. Ho hopes to bo enrolled in tho Royal Eng'necrs after spending some little time with his parents, who are at present in London. Mr Payno is tho only son od Mr F. W.
