RECRUITING IN AUSTRALIA.
ORGANISATION OF CAMEL CORPS. MELBOURNE, May 2. (Received May 3, at 1.40 a.m.) Senator Pearce stated to-day that the Federal War Committee had recommended that the voluntary system be given a further trial. The questions of voluntaryism and conscription would then be reviewed. Approval has been given to the organisation of a camel corps for the Australian troops, each brigade to furnish two sections.
