TROUBLE.

DISPUTE PRACTICALLY SETTLED.

UNION LEADERS ACCEPT TERMS.

(From Ode Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, April.7. It is that the Petone Woollen Mills trouble will be settled on Monday; that, in fact, the union leaders are only waiting until Monday to say "Yes." The terms offered by the company are as follow:— All male workers up to and including 48s per week, and all female workers up to and including 27s 6d per week, a war bonus of 10 per cent, as from February 1 last. All male workers above 48s, and all female workers above 27s 6d, a war bonus 'of 5 per cent., as from February 1, 'and also a baby bonus of 5 per cent, on six months earnings, including overtime, ended January 31, 1916. Hie war bonuses are payable after every fourth pay day, and the special bonus of 5 per cent, at the close of the company's financial year. Any employee leaving between the bonus pay days to receive ; the amount that has accrued at the 1 time of leaving. Tho union still holds out for a 10 per cent, all-round increase-, and has asked for another conference, which the employers have refused. If the union leaders prove firm, the strike will break itself in a very short time. Two more public meetings are to be held to-morrow, at which tho union members are to speak, and there is reason to bolieve that on Monday the union will settle the dispute on the terms offered.
