THE LONDON SERIES. Fieas Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, January 20. At the wool sales crossbreds made a 10 per cent, advance on December rates. Merinos were firm at opening rates. There was active competition for the New Zealand clip Horaurinui, which realised 15|d to 15§d. SYDNEY SERIES. A FIRM MARKET. SYDNEY, January 21. (Received Jan. 21, at 9.50 p.m.) The week's wool sales closed strong, and improved prices were firmly maintained. An advancing tendency was shown, especially for crossbreds. There was briak competition, buyers including Americans, Japanese, and French. Merinos touched 14d and crossbreds 13jd, which are records for the season.
Mesrs Murray, Roberta, and Co. (Ltd.) have- received the following cablegram from their London agents (Messrs Sanderson, Murray, and Co.): —" Sales have opened with good attendance of buyers and good competition. Merino combing, good, market par to 5 per cent, advance; merino, other descriptions, market par; crossbred, greasy, market 10 to 15 per cent, advance; •lipe and scoured, 5 to 7£ per cent, advance."
