MORNINGTON BOWLING CLUB'S CONCERT.
St. Mary's Hall, Mornington, was filled to the doors last evening on tho occasion of the Mornington Lowhnsj Club's annual concert. The president of the club (Mr T. 1 C. Coull) occupied the chair, and in a happy introductory speech referred to the pleasant social relations which existed among members of the club, and which were engendered by gatherings of the members of tho club and their friends on occasions like the present. It had been proposed, he said, to form a ladies' bowling club in Mornington, and more would be hoard of- the suggestion in duo course. The men's club was heartily in accord with the proposal, and members had signified their intention to grant the ladies the use their grounds, and bowls for the ladies would bo arranged for. Ho referred to the fact that five members of their club bad sons who 'had gone or were going to tho front, and of this fact they were very proud.—(Applause.) The programme, although lengthy, was a most enjoyable ono. The audience was very appreciative and the performers, almost without exception, were compelled to double their contributions. —The following wore the contributors:—Misses Ford and Mercer (piano duet). Miss A. Churchill (monologue and recitations), Miss N. Wood (vocal solo). Miss N. Donsem (vocal solo). Miss May Brown (humorous recitation and yocal solos). Misses Donsem and Shrimpton (vocal duet), Mr G. Meatus (humorous scngs). Master W. M'Kcnzic (Highland (line and seantreus, with accompanimcnts on " the bagpipes by Pipe-major J. M'Gregor). Miss K. Smith and Mr J. Lewis (banjo duet). Mr Osborne (recitations). Mr Duncan (exhibition of conjuring), Master Scon Brown (vocal solos), Mr A. Rnwlinson (vocal solas). and Mr T. Anthony (humorous song). _ Tho accompaniments were played by Mifses H. Ford and H. Johnson. * Miss Johnson also played the. Nat'oinl Anthems of the Allies "during the interval. At the conclus'on < f the concert a complimcntarv focal and dance w<is tendered to the lady friends of tho club.
