MEETINGS.
W.M. Bro. Rude presided ov/r a wellattended meeting; of tho Valley True Blue Proteetant Alliance, at tho Albany Street Hall, on Tuesday. After tho usual business had been attended to three new candidates wero initiated, following which, several items of interest regarding the new Social Committee were discueeed. Beforo dosing the lodge, P.M. Bro, Arnold, on behalf of the members of the lodge, presented to the W.M. a beautiful _ marblo clock as a token of their good wishes to him on tho occasion of }u3 approaching marriage. Bro. Itado suitably responded, and the lodge then closed with the singing of "God aave the King." A meeting of the Otago Fanciers' Society which, is affiliated to the New Zealand Canary, Pigeon, and Poultry Association, was held in tho Old Fire Brigade Station •on Monday. _ Mr T. Grainger occupied the cliair. Owing to 6ome disagreement with the South Island Association this new body faas struck out on its own account, and iormed itself into the abovo society, which will specially cater for utility poultry. Tho election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—President, Mr A. B. Hall; vice\ presidents—Messrs D. M'Lean, J. Simmons, 6en., W. M'George Allan, and R. Tregear; Becrotary, <Jlr AV. Stephen; treasurer, Mr T. Grainger; trustees, Messrs D. Aula and Alex. Binnie; committee: For canaries and case birds—Messrß J. Masterton and Archibald Birmio; for fancy pigeons—Messrs W. M'Georgo Allan and; J. Scott; for bantame—Messrs H. Smut and H. A. Binnio; for poultry—Messrs Fleming and Coombee; I for cits and children's pets—Messrs Jack- | son and Ronalds.
