PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
At a meeting of the Peninsula Road Board, attended by Messrs Fairbaim (chairman), Black, Lundreth, Pryde, and Weir, a letter was received from tho Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs, stating that by direction of the Minister a commission would be appointed to inquire and report upon tho proposed amalgamation qf the Tainui and Sunshine area with the borough of St Kilda, but owing to tho recent discussion that had arisen over tho District Drainage and Sewage Act, Amendment Act, the commissioner woold not be appointed until late in tho year.—Tho lotter was received. Tho board decided to pay 2a per 100 for tho destruction of 6toall bird eggs. 'The inspector was authorised to obtain the necessary rectal for the Main road at Highcliff and Sandymount. Mr J. Wcstfold was present asking to have a culvert placed at his entrance. The board agreed to have this work done, Mr Westfold to supply the pipes. Accounts amounting to £42 19a lOd were passed for payment
