KAIKORAI BOWLING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Kaikorai Bowling Club was held last' evening in tho club's pavilion. The president (Mr W. C. Allnutt) occupied the chair, and there was an attendance of about 20 members.

The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report, said- that the past season had been a pleasant and successful one. Perhaps they had had most enjoyment from friendly games on their own green. He prophesied that the coming season would be one of the best since the club started. Tho green had been improved 1 very much, and its state that evening showed that it was drained very welL Ho had expected to see a lot of -water about after the heavy rain, but it had all run off very quickly. Ho_ had not been idle in regard to the drainage of the land in the vicinity of the green. Ho had taken upon himself to arrange a petition, signed by all the lessees, asking the City Council to deepen the culvert. Ho had seen some of the councillors, who had made investigations, and it was probable that the channel would be deepened in the near future. The club required new members, but it was his opinion that if the green was kept in a good condition there would be no difficulty about increasing tho membership. Owing to the illness of the secretary it had been found impossible to prepare a balance sheet.

Mr D. Masterton seconded tho motion, which was carried unanimously.

The Chairman re-id a letter from the secretary (Mr H. Morton) enclosing his resignation owing to pressure of business. Mr A. Ellis moved tho following motion, which was carried unanimously :—" That the club placo on record its high appreciation of tho work done for the club since its establishment by Jlr Morton, and that his resignation from the secretaryship, through pressure of business, be accepted with much regret."
