The winter meeting ol the Wellington Racing Club was conoludcd to-day in dull, drizzling weather, but despite this fact thero was a large attendance Tho course was heavy, and the times were very slow, though the racing was interesting. The stipendiary stewards held an inquiry into the handling of Paritutu and Haskayne. The former, who was ridden by R Thompson, started in tho July Steeplechase and was unplaced, while the latter won the Winter Oats. In both instances, as tho official report pUK it, " the same advico -was tendered," and no further action was taken. Business at the totalisator was again brisk, the sum of £30,457 going through the machine, as against £21,000 for the corresponding daylast year, making a total for tho meeting of £00,034 i as against £34,603 for the 1912 meeting. As they swung into the str'a.glu Windage was still loading Daylight Bill, with Waiaio at the head of the others. Riro Atu ran olf at the stand double. Waiaio ran up to Windage at the back, but the former made a faultv jump and this spoiled his chance. Passing the. six-fur-long post the last ume round Bismarck began to improve his position, and was at the head of 'affaire when they entered the straight, but Grit Lawless was seen to be coming fast and, gradually overhauling the leader, he won by a length and a-half. The third horse was two lengths away. Time, 4min 54 3-ssec.

Donzel led over tbe first jump, but Sapper Tandy soon assumed the lead, followed by Donzel, Sportsman, The Native, Parititu, aiid Waitere. Donzel headed the field again at the fence at the back, where Sportsman turned turtle. Passing the six furlong post Donzel was still at the head of affairs, with Hautere and Napper Tandy following in that order. At the back of the course Hautere dropped into fourth position, and Tho Native moved up. Donzel came to grief at tho log fence, leaving The Native in command. Hautere again improved his position passing the six furlong post, and was on terms with The Native. The hitter, however, was going wel. and shook off the Auckland horeo before reaching the neifc fence, where Kia Ora foil, Pari tutu and Waitarcro were still in the rear. Tho Native- was first over the Hencoop, and won easily by eight lengths, with Napper Tandy about half a furlong away. Time, smin 48 2-ssee.

The latter stumbled at the last fence, but Adams, made a good recovery. Darby Paul was woll out in the lead, and won by three lengths from Stevens, who was a head in front of Red Earl. From a good start Kcw was the first to show out, followed by George and Field Force, with Tree Lucerne at the head of the others.' Hie-order was maintained till tho top of the straight was reached, where Field Foroc dropped back.
