THE LIQUOR LAW.
A TECHNICAL BREACH.

_ TE KUITI, January 27. At the Magistrate's Court to-day L. D. Nathan and Co., of Auckland, were charged on three charges with sending liijuor into the King Country without furnishing a statement as to the quantity to the clerk of court. The defendants said they adopted the same practice as with Olrinemuri, and had the police asked for specific quantities to be stated the firm would havo complied. The firm made casce of eight dozen pints, and other firms seven dozen. The magistrate said the statements furnished were misleading to the police, and the act was not being complied with. The.firm was technically guilty, but he would not record a conviction.
