SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS.

MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. (Pir Uhited Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON, December 9. The meeting of tho Council of the Society of Accountants was continued today, Mr Peter Barr (president) presiding. All the members of the council were present, with the exception of Mr Roberton, of Auckland, and Mr Green, of Dnnedin. The greater part of the day was devoted to a discussion on the proposed regulations, and the members of the council made a number of suggestions to the Executive Committee, who have the drafting of the regulations in hand. . It was decided, in reference to the 1910 examination, that no partial passes be granted at such examination, but that partial passes granted in 1909 can be completed in 1910,

A discussion took place on the question of the amending bill now before the House, and introduced by the Hon. 0. Samuel. It was decided that the matter be left in the hands of the Legislative Committee, with jower to act.

The session concluded about 4 p.m., when, on the resolution of Mr Ott, of Invercargill the appreciation of members of the council for the manner in which tho president had conducted the business was ordered to be recorded.
