TAIERI DRAINAGE BOARD.

He ex-nres.-ed the hope that the council would in future work amicably with the board. The Tnieri County Council wrote asking that willows left on the Circular road by the board's workmen be removed.—To be attended to. excixeer's report. Mr JI. Elliott, the board's engineer, reported that the West Taieri gang had he ('p. engaged on Duck Creak and drains between Little Creel; and Berwick; that the pump had been erected on the drain from Duck Crock to the Taieri, and a trial run made, with it. The general condition of the drainage of the West Taieri was satisfactory. There were no applications for work of any description to lay More the board. Up to last meeting £658 5s 2d had b?en spoilt for cleaning drains and pumping. In the East Taieri timber was being cleared from the lower end of the Silvers!ream, and frum the GladlieldOwhirn road up. The ganger in this division desired to be roiievetl of his duties. The engineer recommended that the ganger be accordingly relieved. A draft plan had Iwn made of the h>-l and West Taieri districts showing all levels and other information up to d;'te. The finished plan

would take some time to prepare, as there ■was considerable difference between (Ik; boundaries as existing and shown on the plans available.

The report, was adopted. A good deal of business was held over till a full meeting of tho hoard on January 10, 1910.
