ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

(Pr.R United Press Association.) AUCKLAND. August 1. A waiter named James Robinson, aftef getting a friend to identify him, obtained a Iwttlo of prussic acid from a chemist, stating that, he wished to poison his dog. On reaching the street Robinson declared in dramatic fashion that he was going tr take poison, uncorked the bottle", and swallowed n portion of the contents. His companions dashed the bottlo out of his hand, when ho fell down, and they carried him to the nearest chemist's, where an emetic was administered. Robinson is now in hospital, fatal losults having been averted.
