On May 31. in kt. 21.35 E. and lorn;. 173.23 W.. the barque Drammeivsen, bound from Maiden Island to Auckland, experienced a sudden shock, from stem to stern, completely stopping the vessel for four or five minutes. A very loud report was heard in the distance.
