DRUIDS' CONFERENCE.

(Per United Pxess Association.) NELSON, February 18. The liiennial Conference of the District Grand -Lodge of Northern New Zealand, U.A.0.D., opened this morning, about 60 delegates being , present, representing lodges from the North of Auckland to Greymoutli. The visiting delegates woro welcomed by tho local Druids, and wero ako received and welcomed by tho Mayor and councillors and tho Hon. F. Traek. Mr Blooinfield (of Auckland) acknowledged tho hearty welcomc. At the conference nominations; wero taken for offices and amendments to rules wero considered, A letter was received from the Grand Lodge of Victoria, intimating that tho District Grand Lodge would be given a Grand Lodge charter. Tho report of tho-Board of Management congratulated the Order on its progress, 10 lodges having been added to the roll. The balance sheet 6howed that, they had added £2180 to their funds, which now amounted to £9370. The membership at tho end of November was 6110—an increase of 1142. Tho total increase in the lodgo funds was expected to be £9300. There was £3336 to .credit of the specinl levy fund, which meant-that with the present membership one in every thrco levies would be free. NELSON, February 19. At the Druids' Conference tho election ol officers resulted as follows:—Grand President, Bro. H. J. Gilbert; Grand Vicepresident; Bro. W. Hunter; Grand Secretary, Bro. J. N. Grant; Grand Treasurer, Bro. It. Fletcher; Grand Guardian, Bro. B. Wade; Trustees, lircs. E, Allen and .Tames Mackay; Appeal Committee—Broe. Nelson, Allen, Johnson. Mackay, and Mullins; J.P.G.P., Bro. W. Blomfield. Bro. Msjekay received a vote of thanks for his very valuable services. Ho was also granted a honua and was made a lifo member of tho executive.
