A CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER.

A MOTOR FIRE ENGINE ACCIDENT. WELLINGTON, January 25. As (ho outcome of the accident at the corner of liowcn street and Lanihfon quay on December 17, in which Mrs Amy Kensington, wife of Iho Undersecretary of Lands, was killed and her daughier severely injured, a charge of manslaughter was brought: against Win, Stephen O'Brien anil IJalmor Otto Spry in tlio S.M. Court to-day. Spry was driving , ihe motor fire engine at tlie time of the accident, and Deputysuperintendent O'Erien was in charge of I lie brigade. The motor was driven "along Lambton quay about 4.30 in the afternoon on the way to a fire, and just before the motor turned imn Bowel: street Mrs Kenfingion and her daughter walked on to the Crossing. The car iurned tho corner, and eollidetl with the two ladies. The coroner's jury returned a verdict that ihe death of Mrs Kensington was accidental, and that no blame, was attachable to the driver of the motor. The case was adjourned till Monday.,
