GORE TROTTING MEETING. GORE, February 14. The Gore Trotting Club'r meeting was hel<l to-day in splendid weathei. There was a large attendance of the public, and speculation Oil the totalisator was brisk. The sum of £1841 was put through the machine on tho seven races, as against £1569 lost year, l'lie course was exceptionally fast, and good times wore recorded, Fischu established a Southland mile record of 2min 19 4-ssec in the big Mile Trot. Heavy rain fell this morning, but by noon the weather was warm and dry, tha course being in good condition. The attendance was only moderate. The totalisator investments amounted to £7075, as against £6899 for the' corresponding day last year, although to-day's attendance was much poorer. The telegraph office was extended from the course, and, strict precautious were taken against betting and bookmakers. The following are the results:— FLYING HANDICAP.
