THE CHRISTCHURCH EXHIBITION.
(Pee United I'bess Assooiltion.) OnRISTCHURCH, April 4. The Premier has telegraphed to tlio Mayor (Mr p. M. Gray) regarding the International Exhibition that tho appointment of a secretary is to be proceeded with, tho subcommittee of the General Committee selecting two or threo/iiames and sending them to tlio General Committee, that committee sending on the names selected for final selection by the Government, As the salary of tlio secretary is payable by the Government'. the appointment miist bo made ,by the Government. Mr G. S. jVlunro, nctingcliief clerk of the Industries and Commerce. Department, is to proceed .to this city to meet the General Committee with the view of obtaining and furnishing information and details essential to a commencement being made, fixing tlio objcct of the exhibition, its scope, and other particulars, and assisting to draw up a prospcotus of the exhibition necessary for public information and that of intending exhibitors.
