Entries for the New Zealand «fg-laying competition, to be commenced at Blenheim shortly, have closed. The total 'number of pens entered is 101. Blenheim is represented with 53 entries. The other entries havo been received from all parts of Now Zealand, and includo three from South Australia. Almost every town from Auckland to: Invercargill is interested. There are 26 entries of white Leghorns, 20 of silver Wyaudottes, 16 of black Orpingtons, 12 of brown Orpingtons. 9 of buff Orpingtons, and 9 other broods aro represented. Tho pens will, bo completed at tho end of the week, at a cost of £507. The official opening will bo held during May.
