RAVENSBOURNE REGATTA.

The concluding item of the Itaven9bourne regatta, the Local Challenge Cup Race, took place on Saturday afternoon, when a splendid one-reef nor'-easter was blowing. Some six yachts faced the .starter, and when the gun fired Waimana made a beautiful start, Lennox Lass and. Ventura being next, whilo Eileen hung in the wind for a minute or two. On rounding the three-legs Waimana still led, but EiloenTiad sailed into second place; then came Lennox Lass, Ventura, Dream, and May. This order was maintained throughout the race, but on (he beat front town the Eileen and Ventura both improved their positions. Waimana and Eileen both Bailed remarkably well, but Ventura never seemed to get properly going till on the beat from town, several small mishaps occurring to her and the Lennox Lass during the race. The handicapping worked out fairly well, but, its events turned out, Ventura could have done ■ with more.
