The Kia-ora was in charge of Mr Buekcridgc, formerly connected with the Discovery Antarctic expedition, and lie had with him Percy Isaacs, liccnsao of the Roy.nl Hotel, the arrangement being that the latter should leave tho liia-ora at Gisborno and mako room for a seaman named Harry Drandt, with whom Buekoridgff proposed to proceed to London, via Cape Horn. It is diflieult to understand how the Kia-ora, got ashore at Point Kod"®V, but probably sho was driven considerably out of her course by adverse gate, J. M. Both had vory anxious time. Little hope saving boat."
