(Per Uxiran Press Association-,)
AUCKLAND, October 20. Lloyd's agents hero this morning received a telegram from Little Omaha stating that tho yacht Kia-ora, which left Aucic'and on Sunday for Gisborne, was ashore at Point Rodney. Tho telegram gave no details as to how tho mishap occurred or tho extent of the. damage to tho vessel, hut stated that no lives were lost. The Kia-ora was in charge of Mr Buekcridgc, formerly connected with the Discovery Antarctic expedition, and lie had with him Percy Isaacs, liccnsao of the Roy.nl Hotel, the arrangement being that the latter should leave tho liia-ora at Gisborno and mako room for a seaman named Harry Drandt, with whom Buekoridgff proposed to proceed to London, via Cape Horn. It is diflieult to understand how the Kia-ora, got ashore at Point Kod"®V, but probably sho was driven considerably out of her course by adverse gate, J. M. Buckeridge wired this afternoon as fellows:—"Kia-ora missed stays, got in breakers; now on rocks at Point Rodney. Both safe and unhurt. Wc-ather too bad for steamer Jo call. Both had vory anxious time. Little hope saving boat."
