FLORAL PETE.

o A meeting of ladio3 to form a committee in connection with the floral fete was hold in the Town Hall yesterday. A large number of ladies were present, and the business was taken up heartily. A strong Ladies' Executive was appointed, and there is not the slightest doubt that the ladies, acting in conjunction with the strong committees already formed, will be able to carry the project to a most successful issue. All the committees have now been appointed, and are hard at work in making all necessary arrangements. During tho next week or two they will have a very busy time, b« as they have the previous experience to go on the fete on this occasion should equal, if not surpass, that- held three years ago, especially as there is the opportunity for ■ the _ committee to introduce novelties and original ideas that were not in evidence last time. Tho duties of secretary aro being attended to by Mr C. R. Smith, who will be glad to receive voluntary offers of assistance or give information in connection with the event that may be required in any quartor.
