A SUPPOSED SUICIDE.
19 believed to have been a case of suicide was discovered at Mount Cargill, a few) miles from Waitati, on Sunday, when a lad named Leonard Green found a middle- | aged hian named Jacob Graham, hanging dead from a rafter of his house. The lad called his father, who resides close to Graham's farm, and Mr Green made an examination of the body and concluded the man had been, dead for about a. week. He then gent-to Waitati for the police, and Constable Drury, who arrived a short time later, cut down the body. Graham was a email farmer, but as he was frequently away afc employment on neighbouring farms his non-appearance about his home excited no-comment. H© had been known to be of I melancholy disposition, and suffered {severely I from indigestion and pains in his head. ! He, was possessed of ■ some little property and a deposit at the bank, while money was found in tho house. The deceased was a bateheloi , , and seems to have had no relatives about this district. An inquest will be held by Mr James Green, J.P., to-day.
