DUNEDIN JEWISH CONGREGATION.
The annual meeting of the Dunedin Hebrew congregation.was held at Synagogue Chambers on .Sunday:, under the presidency of Mtr Julius- Hyman. The report of the treasurer (Mr 8. "Solomori) showed the finance to be buoyant, despite the fact that during tho past year there had been very heavy calls on the funds for votes that would ' certainly not be recurrent. Oβ the whole, the, position of the congregation was a sound one, as, notwithstanding the causes before mentioned, the gross receipts were within a few, pounds of those of the previous year. Tho ©lection of office-bearers for, the current year resulted in the following being re-elected unopposed:—President, Mr J.: Hyriian; treasurer, Ali- S. Solomoii; hon. secretary, Mr M. M. Heinemann; committee—Messrs 'F. Falek, P. Isaacs, P. Hallenstein, and H. F. Moss; auditors, Messrs A. Jsrnan.uel and Ahlfeld. The Rev. A.' T. Ghod6wski wae reappointed minister for a further term of three years, and a special committee was set up for tho purpose of considering , the best means by which to reduce the permanent debt on the synagogue.
