MR MILLAR. M.H.R.. AND THE VOLUNTEERS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir.—Tn this morning's Times I notice a local to the effect that through the intervention of Mr Millar. M.H.R.. the volunteers will now receive free passes on the railways to attend rifle matches. Now, it is true tha,t at the last election Mr Millar received a. largo support from the Opposition party, which gave him his largo majority, and, therefore, one can undor.-'Land thp continued attempt by the press and a certain class of people to keep tho senior member before the public. But, Sir, this is overdoinc it. as I shall show. The volunteers went to Mr Barclay. M.H.R., the junior member, and explained the nosition to liim. Mr Barclay promised to wire to the Premier, but before doinc; so consulted MiArnold, and these two sent a joint wire. As they were not able to find Mr Millar, but lxslicving that ho would be pleased to sign the telegram, his name was added. Each of the three members, therefore, received a reply—not Mr Millar only, as you imply—
