"POWER AND THE GLORY."
Mr C. R. Stanford will commence his dra- \ matin season at the Princess Theatre to-morrow : (Boxing Night), when will be produced for the i first time in Now Zealand Charles Darrell's sensational spectacular drama, " The Power and the Olory" (by arrangement with Mr Charles Holloway). Messrs Alfred Clint and Edward Vauehan have painted a series of pur- i ticnlarly elaborate, tableaux, illustrating the Mansion House, London, and the summit of tho Monument, concluding with a transformation scene. The cast will include the follow- j imy:— Harry Goodhirk (seaman). Mr \v. Tiute; Ferdinand Craylc (Kincr of the Mobsmen). Mr C. 11. Stanford : Harold Hartroe, Mr Frank Haw- ; thorne; Johnny Hyce Mnrriss, Mr C. B. West- ' maeott: Tommy Jinks. Mr J. P. O'Neill: Forward. Mr George Chalmers; Jacob Hardbake, Mr Frank Harcourt; Lizzie Medwin, Miss Ida Orc?ham: Kat- Ooodluck, Miss Rosa. Conrov; Linda (blind child), Little Pearllie Hcllmrich ;
"Mar" Goodluck, Miss Roland Watts-Phil-lips; Bessie, Miss Katie Towers; Lady Gwendoline, Miss Rose Holloway. It is claimed by thn management thnt they are sparing no expense in mounting this production, as, in addition to the principal members of the company, over (JO men, women, arid children have been engaged in Dunedin and will appear upon the stnee. Tiiis, together with the usual working staff of the theatre and orchestra, gives emoloymeni^o considerably over 100 people. With .ouch's crowd on the stage and an acceptable play, theatre-goers are in for a great Christmas treat. The curtain will rise punctually at 7.45. The plan for the dress circle and reserved stalls will be on view at the theatre (dress circle entrance) to-morrow (Boxing Day) from 10 to 3.
