TO-DAY'S CYCLING SPORTS.
With tho prospect of good weather, the Olago Cycling Club's annual sports meeting to be held to-day on the Caledonian ground promises to eclipse any of the club's.previous sports meetings. Already most of the visiting- riders have arrived in town, and with such flyers as Bennett (winner of the Patriotic Wheel Race), Wall, Ralston, Humphries, and a- host of other well-known "knights of the wheel," visitors to the sports may count on seeing cycle racing:.of the very "highest order. Of course the great event of tho day will be the Otag-o Wheel Race, of 50aovs, and no doubt will furnish a good finish. Other events include a. Three-mile Championship of Otiijro, Half-mile Dash, One-mile Handicap, and One-mile and Two-mile for amateurs; besides foot races and volunteer and officials' race.
The following are " Demon's " tips for the events: —
Half-mile Dash.—M'Keich, Randell, and .Humphries.
Wheel Race.—Anderson,' Wall, Bennett, and Stacker.
One-mile.—Willis, M'Mullen, and' Grant. Championship.—Ralston, Wall. Bennett. One-anile Amateur.—White, Grierson, and Hill. : .
Two-mile Amateur. —Melville, Pe'arse, and Lelhaby.
Officials' Race.—Messrs S. Myers, H. B. Courtis, and J. M'Dpnald.
220 yds Run.—Colvin, M'Kay. and Bennett. Hall-mile Run.—Burke, Nagle, and J. D. Day.
