KING STREET CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.

The nnmvorairy services in connection with the Great' King street Congregational Church was held; on Sunday last. In, the'morning the Rev. Dr Waddoll preached to a large congregation, and the Rev. J. Guy preached in the afternoon: to a large gathering of children and friendst ;:,'ln;jihq evening the Rev. G. Heighway. the pastor of the church,; occupied the pulpit,, when every available seat was occupied. The (Collection's for the day amounted to £19, exceeding the collection on any preceding anniversary Sunday. ' Last evening a tea and public .meeting, in celebration of the anniversary, was -held, and passed off very successfully. The tea was held at 6.30, "in:'the Union street School Hall. Over 300 sal, down,to the tables, which were presided over by the ladies/of Ahe congregation. Subsequently,, ■; the public meeting was held in the church, and largely attended. The Rev. MrHeighway presided, and in the course of an address expressed his gratitude at the w;ay his efforts hrtd been blessed during his ministry. '„ . The.attendances at both morning and evening services had increased considerably/-and there had also, been an increase in the attendance at the>-.jveekly prayer meetings. The Young -uen's Guild had a good session ; the ladies' "sewing meeting, under the presidency of Mrs Heighway. had an exceptionally interesting . and successful year; the Senior arid Junior Christian Bands had very good sessions: the choir was undoubtedly one'ef the strong institutions of tne ohurch, and 'its services were much appreciated : Miss Moore, the organist, had agair. earned the gratitude of all for'another year's faithful service; the Sunday school was still: under the siiperintcndency of Mr J. H. Wilkinson, with Miss Dyer as'organist, and they had a band of devoted and willing .officebearers and teachers, which accounted for the school being, so successful in reaching the young people;. and thanks were again due to the lay preachers': '. The annual council meetings, as all wore aware, were held in Dunedin, in the month of :February, and were a source of inspiration arid encouragement to all the members. The earnest words spoken by Dr Bevan', the Revs. F. AVarner and W. Day from that (the King street Church's) pulpit would be long remembered, and prove helpful to the members and adherents. The report was' received with approbation. . Addresses were delivered during the.evening by the Rev. A. Hodge and'the E.ev. ,W. Sancdcrs, musical contributions wore,given by the choir, under the .baton of Mr J. Aberr^ihy. .including the "Hallelujah Chorus." 'Miss Daisy Moore presided'af the org'rtn.. "Mr Black spins?
