STOCK SALE AT CLIFTON.
Dalgety and Co. (Limited) and Stronach Bros, and Morris report a most satisfactory salo of surplus sheep on account of Messrs W. and T. Telford at Clifton on Friday, the 14th mst., when tlicy submitted to a large collection of buyers 4174, and sold overy lot at auction. Rain fell heavily throughout the day,and the sheep did not show to advantage; but buyers, knowing the stock offered, compolod eagerly lor all descriptions, and prices ruled as follows:—l 64 wethers brought 12s Sd; 418 ewes, lis ld; 204 lambs, 10s 4d; 465 ewes, 9s 6d : 288 ewes, 9s 4d ; 270 ewes, 9s ld ; 145 ewes, Ss lid ; 349 ewes, 8s 9d ; 183 wethers, 8s 8d; 53 owes, t's Id, 200 wethers, 7s lOd ; 293 merino wethers, 7s, 248 owes, 63 ld; 107 ewes,. 6s 3d : 300 iambs, 5s 6d; 153 cull wethers, 5s 3d; 146 merino owes, 4s 6d; and 156 cull ev.-e3, at 2s sd.
