'Fat Cattle.—The yarding at Burnside . this week consisted of 246 head. Only' a few pens could be classed as heavy, bullocks, though almost the entire supply was good to.prime beef. Company report having held their usual fortnightly sale at .Balclutha on Friday, 7th mat., when there was a full attendance of farmers present. Business, howover, was not as.brisk as they should have wished, notwithstanding which, however, most lines sold at ■ prices satisfactory to vendors. They quote prices as follows: Breeding ewes, 7s Gd to 9s; four-tooth ewes and wethers from 10s id'to lis Gd; store lambs to 7s Gd. Good classes of cattle: sold fairly well. Three-year-old steers' to £1 sq; > two-year-old steers and heifers to -£2 2s. Pigs, as usual, were keenly competed -for al late ; rates. Milling wheat of medium quality ■ has been more plentiful and sales of this class rather, more difficult to effect. ' Potatoes.—Th. quantity coming forward is ample for present requirements and late quotations aro barcty maintained. Chaff—xV good demand has been experienced during the week, and all prime oaten sheaf, coming forward'has,found ready buyers..
