MERCER BEFORE THE COURT.

Samuel Mercer was brought before Mr F. H. Moriee, S.V , yesterday morning at the sitting of the City Police Court, and charged with having on the 29th inst., at St. Kilda, unlawfully shot one Edward Brown with inteut to kill.

Hanlon appeared for accused, who bore marks of having been assaulted on his S-rgeant O'Neill said in this case Mr Brown was confined to his house, and under the circumstances he (the eergeant) asked for a remand for a week...
