LEONAED HARPER'S TRIAL.

A VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY. (Fun United Phess Association.) Wellington, March 20. The Crown proceeded with the second charge against Leonard Harper this morning. He was charged with having converted to his own use ths sum of £2250 belonging to the Eev. H. H. Gillert, of Edgiand, being part of a sum of £5000 sent out to Harper's firm in 1888 for investment. The same counsel are appearing as in the first charge. The witnesses were much the same as ia the previous ease. The hearing lasted all day, and the jury, after a retirement of half an hour, returned a verdict of " Not guilty." The oourt adjourned till Monday. -
