Velvet, Js Hd to 3s lld ; Tuscan, 3s 9d to 3s IOd; red chaff, 3- 9d fowls'wheat, from 2s 9d to 3s b'd. Oats: Demand Rood. Prime niillms;, ls Ud; best bright short feed, Is 9d to Is IOd; medium. Is 7d to ls bd. We have buyers for aU qualities in any quantity. Barley: There is inquiry in this line. A few lots are taken UP for milling and feed purposes at Irom ls fld to 2s 4d ; maltmg, if prime, 2s Od. Potatoes : Good_ northern, 37s 6d to 40s; southern, 3& lld to 3<s 6d. For bess lots 9d is obtainable. Storekeepers' lots less. Salt Butter.—Best, 7£d to Bd. No inquiry. Cheese.—Farmers', 3d to 3'id. No sale; Pigs.—Eest weight, 1201b to 1601b, 2|d; others anything obtainable. Bacon.—There is no sale for farmers'cure excent at, very unprofitable prices. Market for poultry is agaia very depressed. Last week we had occasion to reserve severil pens, as there was practically no bidding for tbem. This week it was as bad, aud as it is not no-sible to prevent consignors from sending in supplUs, we deemed it advisable to quit at be*t prices procurable. Even then we had much difficulty in clearing the lot forward, but as we do not lbuk for any improvement for a week or two, we reserved none that brought up to—for hens, ls 9d ; cocks, 2s; ducks, 2s 6d; turkeys, 4d. We would advise our friends not to send in poultry during August unless compelled to. Poultry. -At our laat Friday's sale the following prices ruled :—Hens. Is 9d to 2s. Young cocks, 2s to 2s 6d. Ducks, 2s 6d to 33.' Turkey hens and small cocks, 4d per lb ; large cocks, 6d per lb. Geese, 53 b'd. ''-■''& Fruit.—Local apples, 4s ld to 53 6d. Hobart" apples : S.Pni., 6s; F.C.,.75; S.P., 7s. Pears, 12s. j Tahiti oranges, 6s to 7s; Island, 3s 9d to 4s. Business has been somewhat qniet during tbe past week. Evidently our customers had got wind lof our monster sale of Ehrenbach, Brumin's stock, which begins on Saturday, and which, unless we are much mistaken, will be the biggest *hmg in the way of sales which has ever been known iv Dunedin. To allow of the "necessary alterations our premi?e3 will be closed for three days—Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. We have made arrangements for additional premises in Dowling rtreet until this stock is reduced, so meantime all produce sales will be held there.
