GRAIN AND SEED REPORT.

Messrs William B. Reynolds and Co., Stafford street, report for the week ending 24th July as follows:— .

Wheat—There is absolutely nothing to note, and we quote as last—viz., Prime velvet up to 4s ; iuscan, 3s lld ; red sorts, 3s 9d to 3s IOd; and fowl feed scarce at 3s 3d to 3s fid. Oats.—The market remains firm, but buyers are only to be found for limited quantities of particularly prime qualities. Outside markets are still working on stocks hougot at low prices, and until these are exhausted will not operate. Our opinion is that it is only a question of time till the demand increases, and this wiil probably mean an advance on to-day s quotations, which we give at Is 9fd to ls lOd lor prime milling and feed, and for good stout ls Bid to Is 9d; ordinary, Is 7d to Is Sd. Barley.—teed lines especially are receiving some attention owing to whent being so dear, but there v very little malting now in farmers' hands. We quote medium quality up to 2s b'd; feed, 2s -Uto2s4d. We can supply some excellent seed, and would advise farmers putting some in. Chaff 18 a el? r m^°k easier, owing to heavy deliveries, and the very best is not worth more than £3 per Jou ; sood quality, £2 10s to £2 15s ; ordinary, £2 to £i ss. Potatoes are also easier, and' best northern are quotable at 42s Cd : southern, 40s; ordinary, 35s per ton. Seeds.—These are becinmna to move in a small way. Ryegrass is worth 4s 3d to 4s 6 i for prime old pasture. Cocksfoot we can aupply at up to s?d per lb for extra choice. We have also an excellent assortment of all classes of clovers on hand at reasonable prices.
