FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT.
Messrs Thomas Paterson and Co., fruit and produce agents, Manse street, report for the week ending July 24:—
Fruit.—Market well supplied. Owing tp the continued bitterly cold weather demand is very weak, and prices remain without any alteration Hobart apples, 63 6d to 8s Sd ; local, 4s to 5s Si. Pears, none. Oranges : Sydney, 3s 9d to 4s 6d ; Tahiti, 7s to 7s 6d ; Island, 4s. Mandarins, 7s 6d. Lemons, 7s b'd. Passion fruit, 5s to 7s Bananas, lid to 2d. Pines, 53 to Ss 6d per case. Cocoanuts, Ss per Back. Pr6ouce.—Market quiet. Eggs scares, and eagerly inquired for. Fresh butter is not plentiful Prime salt, 7d to Bd. Bacon roll, 5d to 5Jd. We have prime at these prices. Hams, 7d. Pigs, 2J<l Cbeese : Factory, 4Jd to 4id ; farmers', 3d to 3Jd (difficult to place). Honey. 3|d to 4d. Beeswax, Is. Potatoes: Plentiful, £2 to £2 ss; kidney, slow, £2 to £210s. Poultry has fair demand.
' RABBITSKIN MARKET. Messrs Edward Thomas and Co.,1 wool, sheepskin, and rabbitskin merchants, Bond street Dunedin, report as follows:— .-'
