• (Pbb United Pbeiis Association.) Awckxand, December 28. ; Kopata Te Ao is the Native member of Parliament elected to represent the Western Maori district. It is stated at Otorohanga that the Ngatimaniapoto Native who polled the next highest number of votes will petition against Ropata Te Ao's return, on the grounds that the latter was on the European roll for Otaki district at the time of nomination, under the name of "Hema Ropata Te Ao." On nomination day, it is said, the returning officer was assured Hema Ropata Te Ao and Ropata Te Ao were different persons, whereas it is now said they were one and the. same. Bketono, it is stated, will endeavour to get Ropata Te Ao disqualified under " The Electoral Act 1893."
