CITY POLICE COURT.
Mont)ay, August 10. (Before Messrs G. E. Eliott and J. Hynian, J.P.'s.) Übunkenness.—For this offence one person was dealt with.
Prostitution.— Annie Jane Shiels, charged witn being a common prostitute and importuning persons passing in tho street, was convicted and sent to gaol for one month. 1 etty Larceny.—A small boy named Patrick *amung was charged with stealing a pie tin and •a number of pies from tho premises of Thomas Poole, baker, South Dunedin.- The prosecutor complained that he was continually missino- a number of articles from his place. The mother ot the boy who was present, said she tried all she could to keep her boy in, but on that particular day he had gone off on a message. She Promised to administer proper chastisement to the boy, and the presiding justices, after lecturing the lad and pointing out to him that any repetition of the offence would meet with heavy punishment, they discharged him
