SYDNEY HORSE MARKET.

Messrs W. Inglis and Co. report for the week ending July 16 :—" The market was fairly supplied with draught horses, the bulk of which were from NewZealand per steamer Wakatipu. This shipmcut, the whole of which we sold on Wednesday last, comprised a very small proportion of good draught geldings and mares, and any of this description met with a ready sale at satisfactory prices. There is a good demand for young sound geldings, also mares of good quality and breeding, suitable for stud purposes. The supply of horses from the various country districts has been small, and any we had forward sold without difficulty. There are not many good fresh van or 'bus horses coming forward, and such would meet a good market. The supply of well-bred horses, either for carriage pairs or single harness purposes, is not equal to the demand, and we could place several of the latter description at good figures. We sold ex steamship Wakatipu, from New Zealand, ou account of Messrs Peet. and Parker, heavy draught mares from 26 guineas to 40 guineas, active draught mares from 16 to 25 guineas, draught geldings from £29 5s to £35, medium draught do from £18 10s to £24. At the Camperdown Yards we sold, on account of Messrs Peet and Parker, New Zealand draught colts and fillies from £17 to £34. Messrs Brown Bros, and Co. report selling during the same period 8 New Zealand mares at from £26 5s to £42, and 13 geldings at from £21 to £37 10s. We have also sold 38 fight saddle and harness horses at from £4 15s to £16."
