PORT CHALMERS MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

The nomination of councillors and auditors for the incorporated town of Port Chalmers took place at the Town Hall at noon on Saturday. The following burgesses were proposed :—

David A. De Macs, proposed by J. Hay, seconded by S. Mulqueen.

EAST WARD. JNicoLAus C. Schomacher, proposed by A. Thomson, seconded by W. Eider. George Read, proposed by T. Kirkwood, seconded by J. Perguson. C. de L. Graham, proposed by J. Weir, seconded by J. W. Oumming.

iHDDLE WARD. William. Gardner, proposed by J. Cook, seconded by J. Watson. John Thomson, jun., proposed by M. Joyce, seconded by J. A. Anderson.

SOUTH WARD. Alfred Perry, proposed by J. Cable, seconded by A. Thomson.

AUDITORS. George L. Asher, proposed by W. Kettle, seconded by J. B. Taylor. Alphonso VV. Johnson, proposed by J. Morgan, seconded by A. B. Imrie. William G. Pail, proposed by J. Veal, seconded by A. "W. Johnson. James Weir, proposed by 0. de L. Graham, seconded by G. W. Mackley. There being only one candidate for South Ward, the Returning-officer declared Mr Alfred Perry duly elected. In the cases of the other wards, all further proceedings were adjourned until August 1, when a poll of the ratepayers will be taken. '
