The Execution of Bosher.
I (by TELEGRAPH.) - ! Wellington, April 21. Bosher was executed at eight o'clock this morning. About 7.40 the condemned nnn, accompanied by Mr Cooper (sheritf.% Mr Garvey (gaoler), the Rev. Father Ainsworth (who has been attending hini), Dr Martin, and the warders, walked from his cell to the scaffold, erecl-ed about the centre of the gaol. The only other spectators were the press reporters, Dr Cahill, and four civilians. The prisoner climbed the stairs to the scat Fold with a firm step and stood erect on the trap. After prayers, Bosher, in a voice which betrayed but little emotion, thanked Mr Garvey, Warder Millington, the Rev. Father, and all those who had been attendant on him since sentence was passed, for their kindness to him, and those who had spoken in favor and against him. He said that he forgave all and urged them to put their faith in God. At eight o'clock the bolt was drawn and Bosher was executed, everything being carried out without a hitch. At the inquest the usual verdict in such cases was returned. Bosher has confessed. The test of his confession is : "Terrace Gaol, April Itj. I am guilty of the crime for which I am sentenced to death and take my death as a punishment for all the evils and sins I have committed in my life. I had left my God and my church, but thanks be to God while in prison He has sent me two friends who have brought me back to my sense to Himself and to His church, and 1 now enjoy all the consolation that a Christian can have. I have a bright future and a light'? bright) hope, and I have the firm belief that God has forgiven my sins, and that His salvation is for me. This is to be used by Mr Garvey after my death in anyway or form he thinks fit, publicly or privately, or k°ep it to himself (Signed) Stephen Bosher." Then follows a footnote: "tlr'a is a freewill statement, without being asked or without coercion whatever, as no body in this prison never asked me a question in any way. Ido it for my own welfare in the world to come. Stephen Bosher."
